You Found Your Agent!….or HAVE You??
April 29, 2009 by Jennifer Cox
Can you find your agent online?
Now that you have some fresh ideas on how to select your listing agent, what happens next? It can be a grueling and confusing process attempting to determine which of the agents you’ve talked to can not only spell your street name, but knows which subdivision he is sitting in, and isn’t afraid to spring for the professional photographer. You have now talked with three realtors, and have three pricing opinions. Two that are close and one guy that obviously thinks it’s 2005. Out of the three, two made the cut. Out of the two, one clearly shines. Confident in his delivery, he can tell you all about the process and what to expect. He has a fabulous bio of awards, and testimonials. With the backing of a strong, local broker, you can’t miss……right? Right??

Fresh Ideas for Selecting Your Agent
Oh yes …the spring market is here! Busy Buyers and Anxious Sellers. Mortgage Consultants are awake at mid-night watching the foreign markets, trying to predict upcoming rate changes. Home Inspectors are climbing ladders and poking their flashlights into dark corners. Frantic realtors, always running 15 minutes late, are giving up their personal life and weekends to get things done, and loving every minute of it. Even in this down market, the good homes are selling. You need to sell. And you have a good one. Now what? How should you select your agent? I have a few ideas.

Cottell Park – Deerfield Township’s Premier Park

Cottell Park
I had a few work related erands to run yesterday. I was driving on Snider Road yesterday afternoon, crossing Irwin-Simpson Road, on my way to our RealCincy Group office in Blue Ash. It was such a beautiful, sunny day, still a bit cool, but all the same, just gorgeous. I passed Cottell Park and saw the kids playing on one of the playground sets that make me wish I was 8 again. I saw the dedicated walkers getting their afternoon exercise, huffing and puffing around the walking trails enjoying the aerobic benefits of a good run/walk. I must confess. It took every once of strength I could find in my type A “work-work” personality to continue with my workday and not TOTALLY blow off my responsibilities! I was ready to grab my running shoes and join the gang! However, being your dedicated real estate professional, I put on my “go to work” face, and kept on heading toward the office.

One Rotten Banana and ½ a Roll of Toilet Paper
April 17, 2009 by Jennifer Cox
Someone needs to get to the store!
Mason market stats and trend analysis are two pretty fun topics to discuss. They aren’t? Ok, maybe that’s just me. Anyway, there are economic barometers such as The Dow, The S& P 500, NASDAQ, the report from my stock broker. Greater Cincinnati Multiple Listing Service Daily Market Updates. Consumer Confidence Polls. All are wonderful ways to gauge the Greater Cincinnati Real Estate Activity, and maybe make a few brave predictions. I have other ways to gauge market activity: my kitchen and bathrooms. We are down to one over ripe banana and ½ a roll of toilet paper at my house and someone needs to run the sweeper.
The Secret Lives of Realtors, Part 2 – Real Estate Agent Ranks in the Top 5 Most Stressful Jobs
April 3, 2009 by Jennifer Cox
Is your agent looking a bit frazzeled?
Did the last agent you met with wear brown shoes, while sporting a dark gray suit, with mis-matched socks under his slacks? Perhaps she had a gold loop earring in her left ear and a small pearl stud in her right? I bet her shoulders were tensed so high they nearly touched those mismatched earrings, or he kept tapping his pen and shaking his foot as you sat discussing your home sale. Maybe it’s stress.

5 Big Real Estate Secrets
When I speak with people about the listing and marketing process, meeting with sellers that are carefully considering who they want to hire to market their home, I often hear the same misconceptions about how this process works. There are so many incorrect assumptions about what Realtors ® do on a daily basis. Unfortunately, many are perpetuated by the agents themselves.
